PORTLAND, ME – SEPTEMBER 28, 2008: Flamingo Eventz is pleased to announce that they will host the revised, renovated and completely updated Maine Book & Paper Show on Sunday, September 28, 2008. Presented by the Maine Antiquarian Booksellers Association (MABA) and benefiting both MABA and the Maine Historical Society (MHS), this is acknowledged to be one of the finest Book & Paper Shows in New England.
Now held at the beautiful Wyndham Portland Airport Hotel – formerly the Sheraton Twin Towers - members of MABA, MARIAB, LIABDA, ABAA and other prominent book & paper exhibitors from across the Northeast will gather to present an outstanding array of fine, rare & unusual old books, as well as poetry, prose, political, social, historical, children's, maps, autographs, prints, posters, World’s Fair, ephemera, and much, much more.
The Maine Historical Society is a major sponsor and will present a table with information about the society, membership, and their efforts to preserve Maine’s cherished history. A portion of the proceeds from the show will benefit those efforts.

Eastman of Springvale, ME offering rare ephemera; Eighty One Main of Monmouth, ME offering botanical and natural sciences; Lake Androscoggin Books & Prints of Wayne, ME offering fine prints and rare first editions; Bickerstaff’s Books & Maps of Scarborough, ME offering rare old maps & prints; Lux Mentis of Portland, ME offering fine first editions and book art; Conservation Gallery of Yarmouth, ME offering vintage newsprint and maps; Rabelais Books of Alfred, ME offering science fiction and fantasy; Mainely Paper of Owls, ME offering unique ephemera and paper antiques; Tenney River Books of Mansfield, MA offering non-fiction and general ephemera; and A Fine Thing of Portland, ME offering one-of-a-kind ephemera and fine art. These and many other select Exhibitors will be found only at this exceptional show.
A special feature found only at Flamingo Eventz shows will be appraisals by TV personality John Bruno & other respected book & paper experts from 12-3pm.

Admission: Adults: $6, Young Collectors 12-21: $3, under 12 free w/Adult.
Appraisals: By John Bruno, 12-3pm, $5/Item
Directions: I-95/Maine Turnpike to Exit 45, North on Maine Mall Rd approximately 1/4 mile to Hotel.
Miscellaneous: Food & refreshment will be available at the on-site restaurant during show hours, and there’s plenty of free parking.

Welcome to Flamingo Eventz, LLC. We produce and manage Antiques Shows and Book & Ephemera Fairs of exceptional quality throughout The Northeast. Many of our events are fundraisers for non-profit organizations such as Historical Societies, Churches & Temples, and Community Groups.
We have over 15 years experience in Show Promotion and are acknowledged to be the largest, most professional, and respected Show Promotion Company in the Northeast. We were Antiques Dealers ourselves for over 25 years, and have an intimate knowledge of the field as well as the needs of our Dealers and Customers.
We are members of the national Professional Show Managers Association (PSMA) and John is a professional Appraiser and TV Personality with over 15 years experience. He has appeared as Host and Appraiser on a number of national TV Shows, including “Antique Show and Sell”, “Treasures In Your Home" "Personal FX – The Collectibles Show”, and "Pop Nation". He currently appears as featured appraiser on the dish Satellite Network's "Treasure Seekers".
